A Clubhouse is a community organized to help people living with serious mental illness as they manage their illness and rejoin the worlds of employment, education, family, and friends. There are over 300 Clubhouses in more than 30 countries around the world.

Since opening in 2005, Club Success Lakeland has served more than 1,000 individuals. People who come to a Clubhouse are called members; they are men and women of all ages who work within the Clubhouse to promote and achieve their recovery from serious and persistent forms of mental illness. Participation is entirely voluntary; all Clubhouse services and opportunities are provided by members and staff working together as colleagues.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) recognizes the Clubhouse Model as a “best practice.” Clubhouses’ social and economic inclusion reverses the alarming trends of higher suicide, hospitalization and incarceration rates associated with mental illness.
