Director of Community Relations and Development
Peace River Center (PRC) is a behavioral health organization. We strive to improve the lives of our clients and the community we serve by engaging, restoring, and empowering individuals to reach their fullest potential through a broad range of inpatient and outpatient mental health services, substance use disorder services, and victim services throughout Polk, Highlands, and Hardee counties. PRC is celebrating its 75th Anniversary having been a not-for-profit 501 (c)3 since 1948.
Position Summary:
The Director of Community Relations and Development is a hands-on leadership position responsible for helping to craft and tell our story. This position will focus on presenting opportunities to donors to help Peace River Center be sustainable in the future for the betterment of our community.
The Director will be a passionate advocate for what we do and will have an impact on the community as they help to drive agency brand awareness and visibility. Working closely with the CEO, advisory committees, and other groups, the Director will develop a fundraising and marketing plan to include strategies related to an annual appeal, major donor cultivation and solicitation, planned giving, corporate giving, special event sponsorships, grant writing, marketing, public relations, philanthropy, individual giving, direct mail, and major gifts to attain agency goals. The Director will engage and work with the CEO, program directors, board members, and community friends/volunteers to establish and maintain relationships with corporations, individual donors, funding organizations, and foundations. The director will also direct and manage the writing, design, and production of key publications including annual/donor impact reports and other brochures and printed materials with appropriate distribution within PRC and the community.
This Director of Community Relations and Development will report to the CEO as an integral part of the Peace River Center Executive Team.
