Has your child experienced bullying? Are you worried because your child is entering middle school or high school? Do you have the tools to deal with bullying? Do you want tools to have the sometimes difficult conversation about bullying?

We invite parents and caretakers of middle and high school youth to join us for a FREE workshop that will provide you with skills to help your child confidently and safely manage bullying.

It can be frightening to hear your child or children you care about talking about their thoughts and struggles, but it’s better to talk about these important topics in the open than having a child worrying or feeling alone. According to research, children who experience bullying may suffer both short and long-term mental and physical health difficulties.

Having a direct, genuine conversation with your kids about suicide, rape, and bullying is not only healthy, but it could also be life-saving. Yet, many parents refrain from talking to their kids about the tough issues, particularly suicide, because they fear talking about it will put the idea in their head.

Peace River Center has arranged for its Children’s Psychiatric Services professionals to answer your questions on bullying, teen suicide prevention, and emotions.

Adolescence can be a challenging time for a lot of youth, but it’s also a critical time to understand normal development struggles (hormones, etc.) versus potential mental illness challenges. Did you know 50 percent of all mental health disorders show the first signs before a person turns 14 years old?
