Peace River Center Offers Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University
The popular financial management course designed by Dave Ramsey, Financial Peace University, is being offered in Bartow beginning March 19. Offered by Peace River Center the course is open to the community at large with the option of attending day or evening classes.
“Peace River Center has made the commitment to help our employees become good financial managers”, said Ellen Jones, Controller. An estimated 10 to 16 million Americans suffer terribly from debt, yet there remains a stigma and a sense of embarrassment surrounding it. Stigma makes it difficult to talk about the problem and can worsen the effects of debt on a person’s mental health. The good news (id, text, published, title) is that moving from low to average financial capability reduces risk of anxiety/depression by 14.7%!
Ramsey, who developed this financial wellness program, believes successful money management is 80% behavior and only 20% head knowledge. The program unites strong financial education with practical steps to change behavior and achieve success.
The cost of the course is $131 for an individual or couple in the same household. Each participating household receives a book, workbook, audio recordings of each session and other financial management tools.
The first section of the course is offered each Monday night, March 19 through June 11 from 6pm – 8pm. An alternative to the night sessions will be Tuesday morning classes, March 20 through June 12 from 9am – 11am. There will be no classes the week of Memorial Day. All meetings are at Peace River Center’s Administration Building in Bartow. For more details or to register, call Ellen Jones at (863) 519-0575.
